The Food Tech revolution

Updated: Jun 28, 2020

The #FoodTech revolution – it’s silently changing how, where & even what we eat.

#Swiggy & #Zomato are now facing a battle with a deep-pocketed e-tail giant’s venture Amazon Foods. NRAI also entered the boxing ring by tying up with DotPe to offer digital ordering solutions.

#Paytm is seeking to transform the dine-in experience by creating a "Contactless dining service" with unique QR code for each restaurant which can be scanned by the diner to view the menu & place orders directly through phone.

#Dineout, Zomato & a deep-tech startup ‘peAR Technologies’ have released their own versions with features like AR-based 3D modeling.

While we’re no strangers to #cloudkitchens, the new trend in kitchen operations is ‘Kitchen as a Service (KaaS)’ or co-working kitchen spaces i.e large scale commercial food processing facilities equipped with cooking infrastructure that come with flexible rental plans according to size & operating times.

AI-based smart kitchen assistant Chefling could be kicking off the next wave of food tech – seamless meal planning by ingredient & pantry management systems.

The steady rise in popularity of meal-making kits is a reminder that today’s consumer isn’t over his fear yet, but cannot live without convenience for long!
